Stan has worked with the executive team at XL TechGroup since 2002, including assisting with the development of its business model, and advising on XL TechGroup's IPO on the AIM in London in October 2004.
Stan has a 30 year track record as a successful CEO, entrepreneur, and operational manager. He has founded or co-founded more than 15 companies in the United States, Canada, Israel, France and Germany. In many cases he has also served as the initial CEO and Chairman of these companies. In his career, he has also advised several of the world's leading venture capital firms including TVM (Germany), Ventana (USA), MSP (USA), and Biocapital (Canada). Stan has dedicated the last 12 years of his career to sharing his experiences with management teams interested in building technology based companies. He has completed and advised on numerous acquisitions and corporate finance transactions, raising in excess of $1.0 billion in the public and private capital financing markets. He is a frequent speaker at financial and biotechnology conferences throughout the world speaking on topics including, "Capital Raising for the Technology-Based Start-Up" and "The Need to be Global in the Quest for Capital and Partners".
Stan is currently the Chairman and Co-Founder of Katan Associates, a California based strategic consulting firm that works with life science companies to achieve their full commercial value. Stan is also Chairman of Grant Life Sciences, Inc., (OTCBB: GLIF) a company developing a revolutionary test for the screening of cervical cancer, and Chairman of Biophan, Inc. (OTC: BB). Stan serves as the strategic advisor to the State Government of Victoria, Australia. He is also the Executive Director and Chairman of Biocomm, in Melbourne, Australia, the first of its kind regional business development agency and early-stage capital pool. Stan is on the Board of Mercury Therapeutics, Inc. which is developing new drugs for diabetes and obesity, and Phenomenome Discoveries, Inc., a novel biomarker company.
